When my summer months are all about work..... 


We do not have such a thing as summer holidays in my part of the world. I live in the tropics, near the equator. If there is such a thing as summer holidays in my city, then we will be having summer holidays all year round. Because here in my home city, it is summer for each month of the year!

Nevertheless, I had not anticipated for my past few months to be as busy as they were. And no, it was not due to poor planning on my part. It is simply a confluence of events that somehow flooded my office calendar with work and more work between the months of June and August. But when September comes around, work will start to drop and practically disappear altogether for the last three months of 2025. Life has an interesting way of throwing unexpected things at us.

For the month of August, I am squeezing in a short 5-night trip to Bali with my partner. A short break in-between a storm of work! Needless to say, my work laptop will be accompanying me on the trip and I am expecting tp spend many a busy night hard at work while my partner sleep blissfully just metres away from me in the hotel room. 

But a busy getaway holiday is still better than none, even if it will be a work-laden one. 🌏

During the trip, I am looking forward to long walks along the beach, with the waves lapping near our feet as we hold hands and enjoy the peace and quietness in the still of the night. As the night wore on, after tucking my partner to bed, it will be time for me to bring out my laptop and start working like crazy! 

That's my life!

A travel bucket list or any bucket list should not be just about the relatively unattainable that only a select few get to experience. Travel Bits: March 2025

Returning from my first trip of 2025.....  I just returned from my first trip of 2025. It was a 8-nights cruise from Singapore to Bali and Lombok and back to Singapore onboard Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas . I had visited Bali multiple times before because it is a favourite vacation destination for me and is only about 2-hours by flight from Singapore. I had however, only visited Lombok once before, in 2014! The sailing from Singapore to Bali actually took slightly more than two days and I am glad to say I finally get to sail across the Java Sea . 🛳 While I did not take any land excursions during the three Port Days of the cruise, I did disembark from the ship each time to walk around the vicinities of the port areas just to take in the sights and sounds.
